Jordan Shelfo

Jordan Shelfo is a Photographer and Graphic Designer who is currently studying at East Carolina University currently planning to graduate in May 2023 with a B.F.A in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. He works in multiple photographic and graphical mediums sometimes mixing both and creating series that involve multiple processes and mediums. Jordan’s primary work is commercialized graphic design with favoritism towards print media and other physically produced work. His fine art photography is more conceptual in its nature and deals with other themes often bringing awareness to a subject matter through the use of a visual narrative. He was awarded a Merit award for his work in the 2021 ECU undergraduate exhibition for the piece “Gravity” which highlighted a small piece of everyday life often passed with little thought to its history and connection to the environment. This is a prominent theme through Jordan’s work and his design process is his attention to relationships between the objects in life and the historical influence that may be carried through into the finished piece with a message for the viewer. Jordan Shelfo as an artist covers many different mediums while all still maintaining focus on even the smallest of details allowing for the whole composition to have a voice.
